My Super Amazing Incredible Awesome Trip To NYC

I'm home from my incredible weekend getaway in New York City. Thank you to my awesome husband and sister for "holding down the fort" and Tom and my parents for making the much needed vacation possible. I love you all. There is no way to include everything I did in the short time there so here are my top 5 favorite things about my trip and a few pictures...

-Being with Tom and seeing where he lives and works.
- Eating at the Bleau Gans (my brother's awesome restaurant with awesome food and Ross, yes this means David Schwimmer eating right across the room the entire time!)
-Central Park and my Hotdog
-Ground Zero - I didn't realize how this would affect me. The last time I was in NYC I stood at the top of the Twin Towers with my nose pressed to the glass and remember that moment so vividly in my mind. It was amazing to see and think about what happened there.
-The fabulous Macy's Manhattan - I don't think you understand what a fan of Macy's I am so being here was heavenly to me. It was amazing!

Halloween Fun!

I like the Playful Mod Halloween Party over at Hostess With The Mostess. I love the colors and the googly eyes on all the cups and the candle centerpieces made with window clingys. Creative!

Caddywumpus

I changed the title of my blog because I felt like it. This word's meaning is pretty much the complete opposite of me and my life, but I'm trying to become more Caddywumpus. It sounds more fun!

One More Thing

Sorry to be using my blog as a classifieds, but I splurged on these baby items thinking that I would be having more children, and since I'm not I really want them to go to people I know. This is a gorgeous cherry rocking cradle that I bought for Wade. As you can see I love it so much that it's still in my bedroom. I was going to keep it for my grandchildren, but if anyone wants it I will sell the cradle and bedding for $100. I paid about $160 for both. The brand is Sorelle if you want to look it up.

Yummiest Beef Stew

This is the best beef stew I've ever tasted, not kidding. I found the recipe on Family Fun last year and have made it many times now. It would be so good served in a pumpkin this month. Just click on the link to get the recipe. I also add lentils during the last hour of cooking.

Let's Play Monopoly

It's The Larsen family's favorite time of year....McDonald's Monopoly is here. I think this really is the winning year for us. Wish us luck.

Baby Gear

I know I have some pregnant friends out there who are looking for some baby gear. I have this beautiful Pottery Barn french rose crib bedding that was used by Paige for seriously 6 months and it looks brand new. It is still going for full price at the store and I will sell it to anyone who wants it for $60.

I also have this cute Graco infant carseat/carrier that was only used with Wade that I'll sell for $40.
I am talking serious steals here people. These items both look like new. Call me if you want them.

Carpe Diem!

I've been sitting around all morning watching the stock market crash on CNN and through it all rather than feeling scared, I have a new theory...Seize The Day, or Carpe Diem as my sister more eloquently phrased it. I know all we're told is to save for a rainy day, but let's have a little fun while we can too. Maybe I'm going to go run with my little boy Wade like in this picture. I love it! Today I'm going to laugh a little more.

Paigeee!

Paige was tagged the other day and I am just getting around to it. Here are 5 things about her...

1 - She is the GIRL of all GIRLS. This is something exciting for me because I was not a girly girl. Paige loves flowers, the color pink, makeup, princesses, jewelery, baby dolls, dress up, shopping... you get the point. It's been fun for me though because she's actually brought the girl out of me.
2 - She is a kid at heart. I always say Paige has so much kid in her. She has no worries and thinks everything is fun. She always has a smile on her face. I find her playing alone a lot during the day and she's usually twirling, or making a flower bouquet, or talking to her bug friends. She's very content.
3 - She loves her friends. If you ask her who her best friend is, she names off about 50 and she thinks they are all so special.
4 - She wants short hair. She has been begging me to let her cut her hair short and her reason is that, "All of the cute girls have short hair Mom!" No offense to all you girls with long hair including myself. I have to admit I like it better long because it's easier to me, but she will not hear of it.
5. She loves to tumble. She started tumbling class a few months ago and is doing so well with it. I really can't keep her right side up any more. She even watches tv upside down. At first I was unsure because she can be clumsy and at times appears to have 2 left feet, but she has done so great. She just got her back walkover yesterday is working on her back handspring.
