Parent Teacher - Man I'm Getting Old - Conference

We just finished with G's PTC. He did spectacular of course, but let's talk about something else. Now this is only my third one, but for some reason this is the one time of year that makes me feel sooooo old. I don't know why but Parent Teacher Conference sounds so adult and so important and I just don't think I'm adult enough. Every time I go in I start gabbing because I'm nervous and I'm sure I sound so immature. It's kind of how I felt at kindergarten round up. I practically fell asleep during the meeting and here they were talking about the amount of time your child needs to be able to sit still and listen and I can't even do it! Anyways, it's just really funny how life moves forward and that I'm to this point in my life. I feel like I have to do some super quick growing up or something.

I have my first parent teacher meeting conference today for Oakley! I'm with you, I feel very old. Isn't this what our mother's did? We're not as old as our mothers are we?

I enjoyed this post as I am the one on the other end. Good to know I am not the only one who doesn't always enjoy the occasional "Come To Jesus" talks about students. My advice, the older your child becomes, allow them to be a part of the meetings. As an ESE teacher I inite all of my 4th and 5th graders to join with their parents.
I just came across your blog, you have great taste!
