There is a great article in Cookie this month on how to get your young children involved with volunteer work. I know with our church, the older teenage kids have many opportunities to give back, but I never even think about trying to get my little kids involved. They have some great ideas on age-appropriate service and ideas for the Christmas season. I thought it would be fun to organize a big Christmas cookie decorating party and let the kids deliver them to the nursing home. I know my kids would love that.

My daughter was in a Cooperative Preschool for 2 years. We took goodies and sang Christmas Carols at an assisted living facility. It is a great way to show kids to give of themselves and their time.
